Y6 Open Night and Globe Competition
Thank you to all those parents and pupils that attended our Y6 Open Night last week! We had an incredible turn out. Our student ambassadors on the welcome desk didn’t seem to stop all night! We hope all those that attended found the event extremely worthwhile and took advantage of some of the amazing activities available within the different departments.
The key rationale behind the evening was to provide pupils and parents with the key information they require to make an informed decision when selecting preferences for secondary education in 2018.
Those that attended were able to develop an understanding about the high standards and expectations we promote with our pupils, the outstanding pastoral care provided to current cohorts, and the excellent teaching and learning within each department.
Pupils also had the chance to enter our ‘Find a Globe’ competition whilst exploring the academy. I’m delighted to announce that the winner is Olivia Smith (Christopher Pickering Primary School) who wins herself a Go-Pro camera! Close runners up were Jack Hutchinson (Christopher Pickering Primary School) and Bailey Overton (Wheeler Primary School). They win a family pass to The Deep (Jack) and a family pass to Welton Waters Adventure Centre (Bailey).
We’ll make sure to pop into each Primary School to deliver the prizes or if you’d prefer please contact us to arrange to collect separately.
Well done to all those that entered the competition!
If you missed the opportunity to attend last Thursday please contact the academy to book your own individual tour.
