Year 10 Football team ease to victory!
The Year 10 Football team cruised to an emphatic 10-2 victory over Kelvin Hall. The game played in terrible conditions saw the boys from both teams give their all, with the skill factor of the Sirius boys proving too much for the hard-working Kelvin boys.
The first half saw Sirius open up the Kelvin defence at will with missed chances costing them an early lead. Eventually the lively Chris Brown opened the scoring with two quick goals, each one taken in clinical fashion. Captain Luke Salas strode through the Kelvin defence for the next two goals before Joseph Wood scored from long-range to put Sirius 5-0 up. Sirius continued to dominate the ball and Lukas Mikoliunas was next through before an unfortunate own goal gave Sirius a 7-0 half-time lead.
With many changes made Sirius did not have the 2nd half their own way, as Kelvin took hold of the ball on more occasions. Lochlan Fitzgerald scored an excellently struck long-range effort before Kelvin hit back with two quick goals. Will Murphy scored two late goals to give Sirius their 10-2 win.
A special well done to Luke Salas, Callum Magee and Joseph Wood who have gained selection to the Hull Schoolboys team to face York in the ESFA National Cup on Saturday.
Special thanks to Danny Rouse and Jon White for their assistance with the team and to Cosi Basile for refereeing in awful conditions.
Please congratulate the following boys on their success, behaviour and attitude:
Kieran Bartlett, Jordan Wardell, Robbie Hird, Lochlan Fitzgerald, Brandon Leigh, Joseph Wood, Callum Magee, Luke Salas, Olly Russell, Lukas Mikoliunas, Chris Brown, Luke Collingwood, Ewan Malton, Connah Oliver, Will Murphy.
