Year 11 Hull Schools Rugby League Qualifying competition

The Year 11 Rugby team began their 2011-12 campaign were they left off last year with another victory in the Hull Schools Rugby League Qualifying competition. The matches are played against other West Hull schools and are to qualify for Carnegie Champion Schools Yorkshire Cup and also be crowned Hull Schools League Champions.

This evening saw the team up against Kelvin Hall and Wolfreton. The boys were again outstanding throughout with all nineteen players experiencing plenty of game-time and many impressing.

The boys came up first against Kelvin with tries from Liam Bilton, James Buttery, Macauley Hallett (2), Macauley Duke, Aiden Armstrong and Jordan Abdull with conversions added by Abdull and Liam Robinson (2). This gave the boys a 34-1 victory after a late Kelvin drop-goal.

The second match of the evening saw against a large Wolfreton side however the speed and skill of Sirius proved too much with tries coming from the impressive Jordan Gant who claimed a hat-trick, Buttery (2), Jansin Turgut, Josh Wood and Armstrong with conversions added by Hallett (2), Bilton, Gant and Will Collier. This gave the team a deserved 44-0 victory.
