Year 11 Rugby team cruise to excellent victory!
The Sirius Academy Year 11 Rugby team produced an excellent performance to beat a combined Kelvin Hall /Archbishop Sentamu team 42-0. The team who are coming to the end of their Sirius careers scored some outstanding tries and just as impressively kept the opposition to nil. The team now have their final match in Sirius colours against National Finalists South Holderness in the Hull Schools Final.
The game was set to be a tough encounter as early exchanges saw Liam Platten and Liam Moss work hard to go forward with Benn Arbon controlling the ruck well and distributing the ball with skill. Half-backs Liam Harris and Kieran Jones used the ball well creating numerous opportunities for wide runners in Peter Butcher, Jamie Warcup, Kai Overton and Calvin Parker. Liam Sigurdsson looked dangerous every time he touched the ball and Connor Giddings linked in at every opportunity from full-back with Chris Brown and Kenan Stephenson working hard to take the pressure off the forwards.
Sirius produced excellent tries through Peter Butcher (x2), Connor Giddings, Chris Brown, Kieran Jones, Jamie Warcup, Liam Sigurdsson with Liam Harris adding 5 goals.
