Year 11 team into Hull Cup Quarter-Finals!
The Sirius Academy Year 11 Football team moved into the Hull Schools Cup Quarter-Final with a 7-3 victory over Endeavour High. The team who haven’t played together as a team for a long period of time, scored some fine goals but must improve defensively if they are to go one better than last season when we were beaten in the Hull Final. The team now have their Quarter-Final match against Kelvin Hall.
The match started in a whirlwind for Sirius who scored 4 goals in the first 15 minutes. 1st up was Will Murphy who reacted quickly to a Luke Salas pass for a 1-0 lead before Murphy headed in a Joseph Wood cross for 2-0. An unfortunate penalty against Endeavour saw Tom Greenham score his 1st ever Sirius goal from the spot before the best team goal of the match saw Salas break quickly, find Lochlan Fitzgerald who teed up Wood to fire home for 4-0 at half-time.
With changes been made Sirius slipped defensively and conceded twice for 4-2 however Salas settled the match who a fine curling shot from 25 yards for 5-2. Connah Oliver was next up after been played through he rifled a shot into the top corner before Greenham finished off a goal-mouth scramble for 7-2. Endeavour did finish off with a late goal for a 7-3 score-line.
