Year 8 Boys Strike At Humber Games At Dodgeball!
Sirius Academy represented Hull in the Humber Games Finals staged at Costello and Hymers on Friday.
Sirius had qualified to represent the city at Dodgeball with the Year 8 boys and Year 9/10 girls and also in the Orienteering with Year 7/8 boys and girls.
The Orienteering was staged first and we did the city proud and although we did not win the team event we had outstanding results at 7 and 8.
Luke Moss,Reece Gooch and Jack Scottow in Year 7 came third overall and Harry Knight and Rowan Foster came first in the Year 8 event.
However, it was the Year 8 boys who came out top! Four boys from Sirius and four girls from Archbishop Sentamu represented the Hull team and in Kia Thorpe, Jamie Gould, Joshua Jarvis and Harry Whittles we ‘smashed’ all eight other squads from the county culminating in a final against Headlands of Bridlington and the East Riding.
In the Year 9/10 Dodgeball Event our girls were teamed up with the boys from St. Mary’s and they
performed admirably with Paris Turpin,Shannon Kay, Jessica Gray and Robyn Everett giving their all!
Sirius were also represented by twelve leaders at the Humber Games at Costello.
On a sweltering day our students did us proud and came home with one major success out of the two they were representing the city.
