Year 8 Football boys march on in the National Cup!
The Sirius Academy Year 8 Football boys made light work of Havelock Academy (Grimsby) in the 2nd round of the ESFA National Cup. The boys had the game wrapped up by half-time as they went in with a 7-0 lead however they continued to press in the 2nd half and eventually ran out 11-1 winners and move onto a 3rd round clash with rivals Malet Lambert (Hull) in a repeat of last seasons Hull Schools Cup Final which the Sirius boys narrowly won.
The Sirius boys started the game at lightening speed with sustained pressure resulting in early goals from Harry Fenton x2, Mason Opie-Palmer and captain for the day Harry Wallis. Further goals were added from Alfie Sumpton, another from Palmer and Fenton grabbed his hat-trick.
The 2nd half saw Wallis grab his 2nd, Palmer completed his hat-trick whilst Fenton added his 4th goal. Jack Mortimer rounded off the Sirius scoring before Havelock grabbed a late consolation goal.
The boys will face Archbishop Sentamu in the Hull Schools League on Monday.
Please congratulate the following boys on their success, attitude and behaviour:
George Petty, Oliver Walker, Hassan Alsherife, Josh Smith, Carrington Walker, Harry Wallis, Jack Mortimer, Danny Chadwick, Harry Fenton, Alfie Sumpton, Mason Opie-Palmer, Callum Tadman, Jack Cutler, Lewis Sutton, Ben Spencer.
