Year 9 Football cruise into Semi-Finals!
The Year 9 Football team won through to the Hull Schools Semi-Final with a comprehensive 7-2 win over Endeavour High. The team played well in parts and scored some excellent goals, and now will have to raise their game to overcome two times champions Malet Lambert in the Semi-Finals.
The game started with Sirius using the ball wisely with Joseph Wood and Kenan Stephenson working hard out-wide. At the back Robbie Hird, Callum Magee, Jordan Wardell, Brandon Leigh marshalled the big Endeavour forwards well. The first goal came with Luke Salas hitting a cross goal shot which Stephenson turned in for 1-0. Quickly followed was Salas who hit a twenty hard shot for 2-0, and then Olly Russell turned in a goal mouth scramble for 3-0 at half-time.
The 2nd half was much of the same with Lukas Mikoliunas trying hard with Magee attacking more to support Salas. Salas added a fourth with a good run before Magees cross was headed home by Ewan Malton for 5-0. Salas scored his hat-trick with an excellent finish, before Magee capped a fine display with a twenty five yard free kick which found the top corner. Endeavour battled back and added two late goals for the final scoreline.
Special thanks to Cosi Basile, Jon White, Simon Jewitt for their support and to Danny Rouse for his assistance with the team.
Please congratulate the following boys on their success, attitude and behaviour:
