Year 9 football – Sirius 10 Endeavour 2
In awful weather and on an uneven pitch Sirius produced a solid enough performance against a very spirited Endeavour side.
The first half was very low key with Sirius barely out of first gear two great saves from Kane Tock in goal kept the score 0-0 until Josh Jarvis and Alfie Pougher got Sirius to half time 2-0 in front.
The 2nd half was totally different with Sirius upping their work rate and playing some “proper” passing football and dominating the game in midfield.
Goals in the game came from Josh Jarvis (hat-trick) Adam Kelsey 2, Harry Knight 2, Stephen Pougher, Alfie Pougher & Kane Tock.
The highlight of the game was Kane Tock’s goal, having played in goal for most of the game in driving rain, Josh Jarvis replaced Kane in goal. Kane then went up front to partner Harry Knight. I have little doubt that when Kane is 40, his version of the goal will be that he picked the ball up at the half way line beat two players and chipped the keeper, the reality was a 6 yard tap in, but the joy on his face was great to see as was the delight of his team mates.
