Year 9 Netball team beat Winifred Holtby to become Hull Schools Winners
Year 9 Netball team beat Winifred Holtby to become Hull Schools Winners for the third year in a row!
Since the beginning of September the year 9 girls have played 12 netball matches against local schools to fight to keep their title of ‘Hull School League Champions’. Competition this year was tough, as many schools in the area have girls representing Humberside County netball. Malet Lambert, who were runners up last year having several Humberside players. However, Sirius saw this as more ammunition and drive to want to win. During week 3 of the tournament Sirius smashed Malet with an 8-2 win.
Sirius then had their eye on Winifred Holtby who were rivals in the previous year. Holtby being our last match of the competition and were both on equal points due to neither team losing a game. The girls knew they had done enough to guarantee second place, but knew the win over Holtby would secure them the win. Every member of the team showed true passion and determination and came out with 6-5 victory. The girls were a credit to the academy and were worthy winners for the third year in row.
