Year 9 Softball finish 2nd in Hull Schools Cup
The Sirius Academy Year 9 Softball team finished 2nd in the Hull Schools Cup competition. The competition that gave many students their 1st opportunity to represent the Academy in an extra-curricular fixture saw Sirius up against Malet Lambert, St Marys College and Winifred Holtby.
The 1st match saw Sirius play Winifred Holtby with the boys winning 4-2. Next up the crucial game against Malet that unfortunately saw the boys lose out 5-2 despite some good bowling from Charlie Jackson. The last match that Sirius had to win to give themselves any chance saw them crush St Marys 17-0 in an outstanding performance with Younis Al Shimiri taking three excellent catches and Hayden Mortimer hitting two “home runs”.
